EAMIF
Edinburgh Artists’ Moving Image Festival

About

Celebrating international video art and experimental film,  Edinburgh Artists' Moving Image Festival showcases an eclectic programme of artists who challenge ideas of what we might expect to see on screen. We have taken a break since our 2016 festival, but hope to return in with some events in 2019.

Our 2016 festival featured events at Filmhouse, The Fruitmarket Gallery, Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh College of Art and Collective Gallery. Highlights included our symposium on Gender and the moving image, screenings of films from across the world, and special presentations of Emma Finn’s and Edward Thomasson’s works and an evening focused on African video art. It also featured a variety of talks, Q&A and specially commissioned texts. The festival was supported by Creative Scotland.

All venues were accessible, and the symposium and the Take Time: EAMIF Showcase screening featured BSL interpretation for talks and Q&As and subtitles in English on films.

Our 2015 festival included Q&As and screenings with Rachel Maclean, Torsten Lauschmann and Stina Wirfelt, three showcase of international short films, plus programmes by Embassy Gallery, Alchemy Film & Arts and e.Ami Critical Forum.

All venues were accessible, subtitles in English on films, audio description for one film evening and BSL interpretation for talks and Q&As.
